Get Ready for a Photographer

Professional real estate photography is vital in marketing your property.  In order to help your home look its best and stand out with a great first impression, we ask that this checklist be addressed prior to our scheduled appointment.  

 
REAL ESTATE PHOTOGRAPHY CHECKLIST:
 
INSIDE
  • Clean and Declutter!

  • Turn on all lights and lamps  (including exterior lights)

  • Replace any bulbs that are out

  • Turn off all ceiling fans, yet the light kit should stay on

  • Turn off televisions and computer screens

  • Blinds down, yet open in every room.

  • Open curtains

  • Leave doors between rooms open

  • Remove cat boxes, animal cages, water and food bowls

  • Make all beds and close closets

  • Clothes should be hung or folded and put away.  

  • Store all toys

  • No visible items under bed or other furniture

  • Make sure all furniture is clean and clear of clutter

  • Vacuum, mop, sweep, and dust all areas.  

  • Remove smaller floor rugs

  • Conceal power cords.  Unplug them from the wall if needed, except for lights.

  • Remove all clutter from tables and countertops

  • Remove from refrigerator magnets, photos, etc.

  • Bathrooms are clean and clear of all toiletries; towels folded and neat - Please put the lid down.

  • Remove/Hide the following: Trashcans Cleaning Supplies Books and Magazines Tissue boxes, hand soap, shampoo, and personal items Coffeemakers, toaster ovens, and countertop items Calendars Toilet covers

 

OUTSIDE
  • Turn on exterior light fixtures

  • Cut and rake grass

  • Make sure property is clean and clear of trash and debris

  • Remove Gardening tools and toys

  • Clean and sweep driveway, sidewalks, patio, deck, stairs

  • Move trash barrels/bins out of sight or move into garage

  • Vehicles parked out of driveway and not in front of home

  • Remove all pets and confine cats/dogs to a kennel out of site or in garage

 

 

By exercising the above steps, your photos will make an even better impression.  These considerations can add up to a great first impression. The photo shoot should take approximately 40-90 minutes depending on the size of the home and property.  We will not take photos of closets nor garages unless specifically requested.
